As most of you know, Heavyweight (aka Jay) has been MIA completely for the last month since his son was stabbed at the skate park by a girl known to his son and family. Although his son was okay at last report, Jay has not logged into the game since. As our commander and official leader of the Alliance, this presents certains problems for the rest of us. It is also known that Jay was experiencing some health problems earlier this year, and suffice it to say that either his life is too crazy to deal with the game, or he simply does not want to deal with it at this point in time. The real problem is for those of us waiting for his return. His MIA/AWOL status creates the following issues: (1) He is one of our strongest players and our success in wars against tough opponents depends on his participation; (2) He is our commander in chief, our decision maker and core strategist...nothing gets decided without him; (3) He is the only one who can turn the commandership over to someone else if he no longer wants to play, but he hasn't logged in to do that, so either he can't log in (god forbid), or won't because life is too overwhelming at this point. Either way, the rest of us are stuck in a no-win situation.
Rocket (aka Syed) has been discussing this situation on chat for the last month or so, including with Ryan and a couple other of our top level guys. It clearly doesn't matter how much money I spend on advanced gear, if people don't do their battles and we don't have strategies for each group we go up against with our heavy hitters on board, we simply won't win. For some this situation is okay, for others not so much, to each his own.
But Rocket had enough last night and decided to leave to start his own alliance, with the hope that the rest of the group would join if they wanted to, because we need to have an active commander and he is willing to serve in that role. Kamal and I agreed to go as well, and agreed to stay behind long enough to explain the situation to the group, and let people know what was going on. JD was in on this conversation at the time Rocket left, but he didn't seem happy about it. Let me be clear: we are not happy about this situation either. It would take Jay minimal effort to come in and turn over commandership to someone else but he hasn't done that (that is my take...I don't know him), unless he is very ill and unable to even log in. Let's hope that is not the case. Either way, we want an alternative to sitting on our hands and waiting like schoolgirls for a dance invitation that may never come.
Rocket recruited me, and Rocket and Kamal have given me a lot of direct support and instruction to improve my game from day 1. Tony (Titan) has done the same, and even set up this forum, which very few ever use (sad to me as it is a valuable tool and resource). I am not saying the rest haven't done the same because this is truly an awesome alliance that supports, but my loyalty lies with the peeps who have helped me along the most, and where my future is assured. I know that sounds harsh, but I am a woman who has worked in male dominated industries all of my life, and I am a realist. This is a game, and with Heavy AWOL we have been fucked over. I adore you guys...you have no idea how good you have treated me compared to the lifetime of abuse I have suffered at the hands of my father, brothers, sisters, and co-workers, and it was a very difficult decision for me to decide to leave with Rocket and Kamal. But I know when it is time to change, and I do not fear change like others...change has always set me free of the manacles that others tried to place upon my hands and feet.
As for the misunderstandings that occurred this morning with Mexi and Ryan and myself...Ryan and I talked it out and mutually apologized...we both realized that none of us knew all of the info at the time we were operating and were jumping to conclusions because sometimes it's the only exercise us lowly humans get. Syed did not and is not trying a coup de tat...it was that he reached a breaking point and acted in haste without really thinking because he was frustrated. I am here to clean up the confusion, and I hope you will ask any questions you want.
The name of the new alliance is "The Dirty Foxes" but you cannot look it up until you leave this alliance. Also, Rocket and Kamal are on both Vets and Global chat during their regular hours if you want to ask any questions. It is up to Tony (Titan) what he does both as a member and with this forum, as he is the one who set it up. It is up to everyone individually to decide what is in their own best interests and in line with their gaming goals to stay or go. I simply hope, as Syed and Kamal do too, that we can all remain friends, no matter your choice.
